As sex educators, understanding the foundations of healthy relationships is vital to supporting our learners on the sexual health and wellness learning journey! We interact with others based on our ability to self-reflect, take perspective, communicate, and hold space. These are skills that are rarely included in the general school curriculum, including sex ed. Yet, they are necessary to ensure our folk have the ability to navigate relationships in a way that is respectful of their own boundaries, and those of their friends, lovers, and loved ones.
This module will help you begin the journey, exploring some of the foundational skills across human development, and providing you with some strategies for supporting the development of these skills for yourself and your students!
