From My Queer Heart To Yours this Christmas
Christmas is right around the corner, and if your family is like most familes out there, I bet you have a transphobic Auntie Myrtle, a racist Grandpa, and a homophic parent (or some such variation). For us folks who are queer, holidays often mean having to mingle and cope with less than ”woke” family members as they say and do things that hurt us to the core. And the free flowing wine probably does not stay their self entitled tongues….
You are loveable. You are worthy. You are an amazing person who deserves to be accepted just as you are.
I can’t promise you that your family will ever be the loving and accepting support you may want or need. I CAN promise you that there are so many people out there that CAN be your support network because they GET IT. They get that people are from diverse cultures, and that no culture is ”better” than another. They get that sexuality is a spectrum with no ”correct’ or “normal” button. And even more people are learning to understand the social constructs represented in so called normativity.
So from my queer heart to yours, hang in there.
You are loveable. You are worthy. You are an amazing person who deserves to be accepted just as you are.
