Why do you want to be on the Board? Have been involved with ASPECC since the beginning of 2018 and was previously a member of the board before moving to Nanaimo but am back now. I would like to rejoin the board in order to provide assistance in guiding the direction of ASPECC going into the future.
What does Sex Positivity mean to you? Sex positivity to me means creating a safe space where people can feel free to learn about themselves and their gender and sexuality without feeling shame or pressure to hide who they are. A place to explore and learn about oneself without fearing the pressures of things that may hinder, such as religion, politics and tradition.
An Important Skill You Bring to the Board: Experience – have been involved with various kink lifestyles for over 20 years now and have spent most of that time continually learning more about who I am from gender (Gender Fluid) and sexuality (Asexual) perspectives. Along with that I have also dealt with those items from the point of view of someone dealing with Multiple Sclerosis for the last 16 years.
If you are on the board, what is one project or community support you would want to help build, change, or grow? I would like to look at providing additional support and education around sexuality/gender topics, specifically focusing on understanding them while also dealing with mental illnesses and/or physical disabilities.
Board/Volunteer Accomplishments to Date: As a previous board member Jason created the password security, website security and provided event planning and support.
